Auto Super Resolution
Windows upscales games on the NPU for higher frame rates
Auto SR is an upscaler built into Windows for Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X. The game renders at a lower resolution and the NPU upscales every frame, trading a little sharpness for a smoother frame rate — with no work from the game's developer.
Key points
-
Works on existing games
Windows applies it, not the game. A set of verified titles has it on by default; others can be enabled manually.
-
Around 800p in
Games render at roughly 700p–900p and are upscaled to a display of 1080p or higher.
-
Limits
DirectX 9, Vulkan and OpenGL games, and 32-bit games, are not supported.
